FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food is a course that meets the requirements for a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). The Preventive Controls for Human Food rule is intended to ensure safe manufacturing, processing, packaging and holding of food products in the United States.

The course was developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and serves as the standardized curriculum recognized by US Food and Drug Administration.

The course is taught in a virtual classroom, with opportunities for interaction with the instructor. The enrollment will be limited in number to allow for student learning.

Description

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls for Human Food is a course that meets the requirements for a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) under Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 117 (21 CFR 117). The Preventive Controls for Human Food rule is intended to ensure safe manufacturing, processing, packaging and holding of food products in the United States.

The course was developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and serves as the standardized curriculum recognized by US Food and Drug Administration.

Intended Audience:

Food safety team leaders or quality managers who want to learn more about requirements for a Food Safety Plan under the Preventive Controls Rule.

Participant Certificate:

A certificate of attendance will be provided by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance for those participants who attend and participate in the full training course.

Instructor:

Gary Smith is the Vice President of Food Safety at FoodChain ID. Gary has an extensive list of professional certifications and industry memberships: Chair of the Food Safety Service Providers (FSSP), Advisory Board member for FSSC 22000, co-chair of food group of IAAR, member of the Accreditation task force and Guidance document working group, member of the GFSI and member of the Technical Advisory Committee for SQFI. Previous committee work includes a Council III membership with the Conference for Food Protection.
